START ADVENTURE RIDING
GET AN AMA ADV RIDING LICENCE
Adventure riding is one of the fastest growing classes of motorcycling for good reason. Adventure bikes are some of the most versatile and capable motorcycles you can buy. They are comfortable enough to do the big lap and are capable of conquering the outback.
AMA adventure rides provide riders the opportunity to meet like minded individuals, improve their riding skills and knowledge and enjoy this great country of ours, both locally and further afield.
Adventure rides usually offer opportunites for all skill levels and normally take place over a day or weekend, but can last for multiple days. Riders can participate for one day or the entire duration and any surplus from any fees supports your adventure ride organiser with insurance cover and safety equipment, to ensure that your local organiser can continue to offer future rides.
Rides are usually organised to travel to a particular destination, which offers a host of experiences for riders and pillions, plus the fun and camaraderie that comes with adventure riding.
All AMA Adventure Rides follow a set of guidelines and best practice, which are used as an indication of the minimum operating standards for recreational events as recommended by the AMA. More information about the AMA and links to these guides are available in the ABOUT US page.
ADVENTURE RIDES ORGANISED BY AN AMA PROMOTER OR PROMOTED BY A GROUP...
The AMA has Adventure Ride Promoters (clubs and businesses) that are insured by the AMA to organise rides as well as events for the AMA Adventure Ride Series. Details of organised rides can be found in the Adventure Ride Calendar.
You can also get involved in an AMA Adventure Ride Group and promote local events as well as helping out Promoters with theirs. In order to participate in AMA adventure rides, riders must apply for an AMA Adventure Ride Licence.
